About Scott Stuart

I’m Scott Stuart, an award-winning, bestselling children’s book author on a mission to help kids grow up kind, brave, and unapologetically themselves.

My books have found their way onto bestseller lists around the globe, been translated into more than a dozen languages, adapted for the stage and screen, and nominated for Children’s Book of the Year and Picture Book of the Year.

They’ve also been banned in a surprising number of places – from the US to Malaysia – mostly for celebrating self-expression a little too enthusiastically for some. (I like to think of it as a badge of honour.)

My videos about empowering kids have reached almost 200 million people, and I’m a regular guest in the media and on podcasts, chatting about parenting, authenticity, and raising kids who feel confident being exactly who they are.

For Parents

I’m an enormous advocate for joyful parenting and loving & accepting your children as they are.

Ever since my son expressed interest in Queen Elsa at a young age and wanted to have all the costumes and toys that are usually “for girls”, I’ve made it a mission to help kids around the world understand that they are loved exactly as they are, and to help parents navigate the challenges that come along with that experience.

Most of my books for kids are themed around inclusion, expressing your authentic self, and learning to accept yourself.

For Authors

I wanted to be an author since I was 8 years old, but like many aspiring authors, I was far better at procrastinating than actually getting any writing done (I wrote my first book 22 years later, at the age of 30).

Over the last years of being a full-time author, I’ve learned an enormous amount about the writing and publishing process, and I LOVE sharing that with aspiring authors through speaking & courses.
